I really do love painting at night.
This piece is #3 in a series of evening pool paintings I will be focusing on in the next few months.
Something about the way the light reflects and soaks into the blue green water of the pool feels like the subject is on another planet to me..
The cool and the warm color is something I wanted to show in a composition as being very separate yet the same.
The figure being warm and reflective explains this well as he is partially submerged in the water and has 'become' cool.
In life this has been a great lesson for me..we do not know what it is to be in another persons place until get into the water with them..
perhaps we should try this more often..
certainly our perspective will change
and perhaps our reactions towards others.
