Thank you to the Santa Paula museum for hosting such a beautiful show of incredible pieces.
I took a trip down for the opening and was surprised by a posse of the most beautiful humans.. They traveled from Orange County to support me and the work of all artists!
What a dream.
In January I took a trip to visit Monterey and Big Sur. I was inspired to begin a series of paintings and to write a few poems.
I hope you can be inspired as well.
Big Sur -1/4/19 11:45 am
Pampas glistening on the hills
On the hunt for the elusive spout
“Thar she blows!”
Our voices shrill
Twice we see
By current and sea
I want to be here
To feel the immensity of this place
Don’t you know?
I love you
I came here to find something
To feel something
I find those languid streams of foam
Creating a path to my eroded heart of stone
Do you ever get the feeling
That you are some place sacred?
Some place with a murmured sound that speaks?
One lane road ahead
One long fall in love to the sea below
Take my bones and lingering glances
Break the misty veil
Through those tendriled mountains
The edges of tomorrow are all I see
Endless turns and open heaven
Are you ready for this land?
Ready to embrace it?
But only in my dreams
It is sad
A melancholy place
The heaviness of these broken shores
Is greatest in my chest
In the movement of water from my eyes
In rivulets towards the sea with all the rest
I have been here before in my dreams
On these hills on these mountains
Cresting and falling in blended hues of creation
Even on the wings of these blackened vultures
The birds that fly between the lines
Of my tragic condition
A tragic kind of love that leaves a hole
That clouds the soul
That exists near
I just want to be here
Like a bumblebee flying up to the crust
With a low hum
Maybe I’ll come again as a small child
This is my last showing at the Magoski Arts Colony!
It has been such a wonderful experience showing my work at the infamous Magoski Arts Colony.
Unfortunately for the time being, that time has come to a close.
I will be ever grateful to Michael and Candace Magoski for showing me and many artists such incredible generosity and kindness.
The Colony will always remain in the hearts of those who have always cherished the arts.
Thank you all for coming out to support some magnificent art this Fullerton Art Walk!
